Bright Clash | Dan Croll & We The Wild

Clothes

This outfit was probably a bit warm for the gig it was prepared for but I enjoyed the clashiness so on it stayed! Went to see Dan Croll Monday night and I wanted to wear something comfy and fun. Bar leaving the flat in my pyjamas these New Look trousers are the comfiest thing I own and they've got a delightful pattern.

The leather jacket is always on at the moment as I refuse to wear the Winter coat on the basis the sun has been out for at least 7 days in a row, that means it's Summer right?!

A comfy heel is essential for me at a gig, just to help my short ass see (didn't help much though, but the lady in front did have lovely hair, so that's nice!). I've wanged on about these Clarks boots before, everybody needs a staple black boot that will go with everything.

& Music

So Monday night was about Dan Croll and his gang, and boy were they good! I'd heard a small amount of him on the radio and had a flick through his Soundcloud but I couldn't sing a lyric when I landed in the queue at Bodega.

He reminds me a lot of Villagers (check them out for lovely story telling folk) but also at times his echoy harmonies and electronic twang had a touch of Vampire Weekend about it, all nice sounds. My favourite track of the night was an upbeat number called 'Always Like This', unfortunately it's not available to listen to on his Soundcloud so you'll have to download his album 'Sweet Disarray' to hear it for yourself. Here's a crackin' track from said album, that'll definitely be on repeat on my speakers this summer.

Dan's support act, We The Wild, did a sterling job warming up the half full room with nice electro-pop sounds. A bit of post show stalking found some lovely remixes they've done for Bipolar Sunshine and White Lies, I recommend a listen to them on their Soundcloud. Here's one of their own enjoyable numbers.
