The 26.2 Mile Catwalk

I'm running the London Marathon in 5 days. It's all going to be fine, isn't it?! It's my second time doing it and that's not made it any easier. If anything it's been harder. Last year my competitiveness got the best of me and every training run, long or short, turned into a race to beat my own pace. Every weekend turned into a test of how far my legs could carry me. Every mile felt like a screw you to any kid who'd beaten me in the year 6 cross country (the last time I'd ran any distance). I was Forrest Gump.
When training started this January my legs weren't so keen to move (I don't blame them, they'd already done it once) but some new kit has helped. M&S have provided some leggings that NEED to be shown off and at a pretty reasonable price (£25). These high waisted leggings are super comfy and perfect to add some fun to the long miles I've been covering in training.
I refuse to pay a huge amount of money for something I'm going to ruin with sweat but trainers are worth investing in, they've got to pound the streets of London for four and a half hours after all. After a lot of research I swapped my knackered Adidas Boosts for a pair of Nike Lunar Glide 7. They're super pretty (one of the reasons I went for them) but I do think my Adidas' were comfier and enhanced my performance more than the new pair. A lesson learnt for next time.
I'm running the marathon to raise money for Global's Make Some Noise, a charity that helps young people in the East Midlands and all over the UK. You can see some of the amazing things they do and sponsor me (please) right here. My blisters and I thank you.
